ESU volleyball wins 10th straight

The No. 14 ESU volleyball team won its 10th straight on Saturday with a 3-1 victory at Northwest Missouri.
The Hornets had three double-doubles, led by Arica Shepard with 12 kills and 15 digs. Megan Koster had 10 kills and 16 digs and Ting Liu had 43 assists and 15 digs. Liu also had six kills.
Amy Byfield finished with a team high 18 digs and Jenna Snook added 11. Brittney Miller had 10 kills.
The Hornets overcame a .139 hitting percentage by holding the Bearcats to a .045 percentage. ESU won the first two sets 25-17 and 25-19 and was unable to get the sweep, losing the third set 25-23. The Hornets won the third set 25-17 to improve to 2-0 in the MIAA and 13-1 overall.
The Hornets will put their perfect league record to the test on Wednesday at White Auditorium against No. 17 Central Missouri.
