Justin Spencer, 24, of Carbondale remains in custody in Osage County on a charge of involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while having been declared an habitual violator, according to information from Osage County Attorney Brandon L. Jones.

The charges stem from a rollover accident on Feb. 20 in rural Osage County, Jones said. Jessica Alford, 27, died from injuries received in the accident.

Spencer appeared on Thursday in Osage County District Court in Lyndon, where an attorney was appointed and the case was continued for a first appearance with his attorney at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Spencer remains in jail on a $250,000 cash or surety bond.
