Choir honored to perform

Emporia State University’s 36-member A Capella Choir was one of the featured attractions of this year’s Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA) state convention. The choir, under the direction of Dr. Terry Barham, professor of music at ESU, performed March 1 at the Century II Convention Center’s Mary Jane Teall Theatre.
“Only four university choirs were selected to perform this year,” said Barham. “We were honored to be one of the four.”
Members of this year’s A Capella Choir include: Cory Aube, Overland Park senior; Kirsten Baggett, Tonganoxie freshman; Jennifer Brady, Wichita freshman; Emilia Chiroy, Emporia freshman; Molli Chitwood, Osawatomie junior; Sarah Coury, Arkansas City junior; Jeremy Devine, Hutchinson junior; Stephanie Diehl, Leon freshman.
And, Josh East, Emporia freshman; Jacque Howe, Mulvane junior; Chris Hubbard, Winchester senior; Cassy Huff, Emporia sophomore; Ashley Jefferies, Belle Plaine senior; Kellen Jenkins, Goessel sophomore; Dion Johnson, Kansas City, Kan. senior; Jessica Johnson, Denton junior; Arielle Kingwood, Wichita freshman.
And, Daniel Kooser, Topeka junior; Stacy Kumberg, Pratt senior; Amanda Mayer, Hutchinson sophomore; Jerrod McNutt, Augusta freshman; Scotty Mitts, Olathe freshman; Jake Narverud, Meriden senior; Erika Nebel, Overland Park freshman; Alysa Parson, Wichita senior; Justin Petersen, Emporia senior; Jasmine Puderbaugh, Topeka sophomore; Charlie Roemer, Emporia freshman; Miles Shirk, Wellsville junior; Brandi Smith, Emporia junior; Lydia Smith, Emporia sophomore; Holly Thomsen, Hartford freshman; Ashley Vaughn, Overland Park freshman; Emily Warren, Wichita freshman; Wan Wei, China freshman; Shane Wilson, Abilene freshman.
