Online candidate forum
Friday, July 25, 2008
Tony Trimble and Peggy Mast agreed late Thursday to participate in separate online chats at www.emporiagazette.com.
Both Republicans, Mast is the State Representative for the 76th District in Kansas. Trimble is challenging her for the Republican nomination. Both are on the primary ballot Aug. 5.
The online forums on Wednesday will use the format of other chats with a few modifications.
Each candidate will answer reader questions for an hour, twice as long as other chat participants. Questions may be submitted in advance and also are taken during the chat. Those submitting questions, however, should be aware that, because of time constraints, it may not be possible to get to all questions submitted during the chat. Advance submission is recommended.
The chat times were set up with input from both candidates. It was decided to run the chats consecutively so one candidate would not have the opportunity to read the other's questions and answers in advance.
